Dr. Cheryl Berger Israeloff became interested in neurovisual optometry and the treatment of vertical heterophoria after reading an article about a pioneer in the field, Dr. Debby Feinberg of Vision Specialists of Michigan. Dr. Cheryl was so intrigued that she reached out to Dr. Debby for more information, and even visited her practice. To make a long story short, Dr. Cheryl fell in love with the work, began training with Dr. Debby and established the Neuro Visual Center of New York.
Dr. Cheryl is one of the few optometrists in the country trained in the Feinberg Method, and the only one in New York with this specialized training in eye misalignment. This training, along with over 20 years of experience in optometry, gives Dr. Cheryl and her colleague, Dr. Marissa Zimmerman, the expertise necessary to provide treatments for uncommon visual conditions.

Our Products & Services
You can count on Dr. Cheryl and Dr. Marissa to provide you with specialized care through an array of high-quality products and services. To begin the procedure, our specialists will first perform a neurovisual examination to determine what exactly is wrong with your eyes. Dr. Marissa in particular is excellent in helping children through this process, having specialized in working with children over three before she joined Dr. Cheryl’s team. Once the doctors figure out the source of the problem, they can offer solutions in the form of custom prismatic lenses to treat BVD, comprehensive neurovisual and optometric examinations, and custom eyewear for computer use and sports, among others.
